Popular and easy to use FTP clients:
.
What is FTP?:
FTP is the abbreviation for File Transfer Protocol. It is one of the ways files are transferred through the Internet.
.
Why send files through FTP rather than e-mail?
Many Internet Service Providers place size limits on e-mail attachments. This limit is usually 5 MB. With FTP you can transfer larger files.
.
How do I use FTP?
They may be transferred using one of the numerous FTP clients available on Internet (see the small list above). Each software has setup instructions and help files included. Files may also be transferred through an FTP supported browser, such as Internet Explorer. Metro Business Printing's Client FTP does not support this.
.
OK, I have my FTP client installed. What now?
Contact us to request your FTP settings. Please indicate whether you would like us to contact you via e-mail or fax. Then follow the software's setup instructions.
..
My files are confidential. Can I still use FTP?
Yes. Safeguards can be added to protect the confidentiality of your electronic files. Here are the most common safeguards:
  • Client and User Specific FTP access
  • User Security Permissions
  • Secure Socket Layer FTP*

*SSL (Secure Socket Layer) FTP is another safeguard option. During Internet transfer your files will be encrypted. But, at this time, Metro Business Printing does not offer this service. If you are interested in SSL FTP, we recommend contacting your Internet Service Provider for complete information.
